Our business delegation to the Smart City Barcelona 2019
The German-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania) organized a business delegation to Smart City Barcelona Expo World Congress between the 20th and 22nd of November 2019. The event was the meeting point to encourage all stakeholders, ranging from technology industries through to policy-makers and entrepreneurs, to engage in dynamic action to enable a sustainable and inclusive future to take hold.
During 3 days, the 23 Romanian representatives from public institutions, private companies and NGOs had the occasion to have interesting talks with the exhibitors, discover a wide range of smart technologies and best-practice examples from cities around the world. For instance, we participated at the dedicated workshop “Building smarter cities & regions” organized by Deutsche Telekom and we attended a dedicated presentation on efficient parking space management with sensor technology at the stand of Robert Bosch.
Moreover, we had the chance to discover directly best-practice examples of implementing smart technologies, such as the city of Sant Cugat del Vallès in Spain. With 80.000 inhabitants, it is located in the metropolitan zone of Barcelona and hosts top universities and high-tech companies. Our delegation had the opportunity to engage directly with the local authorities from Sant Cugat during a working visit at their premises.
